The Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA) has moved to regulate NOBO thru-hikers who might want to flip north to avoid deep snow in the Sierra, saying that hikers’ 2020 PCT permits will no longer be valid in the Southern Sierra if they bypass the mountains.
